Lanchenbi Arambam of Catholic School to represent state in national level students’ science seminar

IMPHAL, September 7: The XXXV State level students’ science seminar 2013 was today held at Lamyanba Sanglen, organized by the department of Education (S), under the theme ‘water cooperation: issues and challenges’.
Prof C Amuba Singh, Former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University, Canchipur and president of the function inaugurated the students’ science seminar at 10:30 am.
Altogether 26 students participated in the seminar with two students each representing 13 educational zones of the state.
G Tomba Sharma, former principal of the DM College of Sciences, Imphal as a judge of the seminar spoke on the topic of the seminar and Tipaimukh Dam.
Prof C Amuba Singh said that all presentations were good but only one will be selected thereby making it very tough.
He appreciated all the students for their knowledge level in their respective topic before adding that Science infrastructure should be provided in the next state level Science seminar.
The closing function of the XXXV state level students’ science seminar was later held at 3:00 pm at the same venue.
H Deleep Singh, Director of Education (S) participated as chief guest while B Manihar Sharma presided over the closing function.
During the function, Lanchenbi Arambam of Catholic School, Canchipur was declared as the winner of the XXXV state level students’ science seminar 2013.
In his address, H Deleep Singh asserted that the performances of the young participants were encouraging in their power point presentation and also the research papers.
He further opined to give more emphasis to water, food and shelter before adding that human cannot survive without water. H Deleep also talked about the water pollution and the condition of ecological harmful due to the accumulating UV ray, green house effects etc.
Prof B Manihar Sharma, Life Science Department, MU said that the questions of the seminar may be unexpected to the participating students but the same pattern will be experienced in the national level seminar also.
