CM, Dy CM to meet PM on border issue

Imphal, Sept 9: Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam are all set to land on New Delhi on September 12 to meet the Prime Minister and other Central leaders over the present border fencing issue along Indo-Myanmar border at Moreh, where a large chunk of Manipur’s land has reportedly gone to Myanmar.
Informing this to media persons on his way to attend a day-long State Level convention on Mainstreaming HIV/AIDS for Autonomous District Council Member held at the Jubilee Hall, RIMS here today, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam reiterated that the State Government will never remain silent over the border issue.
The State Government is taking the issue very seriously and will report the matter to the Central government apart from making known the stand of Manipur Government on the issue, Gaikhangam said, adding that it is for this reason that he and the Chief Minister will be going to Delhi on September 12.
