Tekcham water supply scheme located at Khongjom area began to provide drinking water to the public since yesterday when the Assembly Session commenced. He went on to request that drinking
water be provided to the public after the Assembly Session gets over.
He put the question whether the water scheme had electric connection and whether there was any problem as there has been no water supply to the public.
Replying to his question, PHED Minister I Hemochandra Singh said that the scheme has the electric connection and added that power supply has not been provided to Tekcham Water Supply scheme following cutting off of a HT line from Khongjom Maning Leikai to Tekcham by the Electricity Department in connection with the collection of electricity tax.
Consequently, water cannot be provided by using electric pump and it has been provided by using the diesel pump now, he clarified.
Expressing satisfaction over the response of the Minister, MLA P Brojen appealed to make the drinking water available to the public even after the Assembly Session .
