MOREH, March 13: Chief Medical Officer in charge, Moreh Hospital, Dr Th Nandakishore told United Committee Manipur that as the head of the hospital he had informed hospital staffs who have been absent from their duties to attend their duties, however they have ignored his call.

He stated this to a UCM team which was inspecting the hospital.

He continued that the hospital was a Community health Centre but was upgraded to a 50 bedded District Sub Hospital. He said that the DSH was supposed to have 101 staffs but there are only 49 staffs. He added that most staffs come to collect only their salaries.

Even though there are four PHSCs under the hospital, since their funds are allocated by the District Hospital, Chandel which has affected the implementation of the NRHM.

He further complained before the team that there are certain staffs whose names are known but cannot be identified.

He further expressed that if the DC who is the chairman of the NRHM and the CMO who is the Director work properly, than the hospital can be developed. He also added that if the monthly salaries of the staffs are handed through the CMO i/c, the staffs will be made to attend properly.

Meanwhile, the UCM while inspecting the Operation theatre and the delivery room found that the room were filled with dust. Beds in the OT were found in an unusable manner.
