RPF division secretary arrested, incriminating articles seized

IMPHAL, September 21: A division secretary of the Revolutionary Peoples Front (RPF) has been arrested along with various incriminating articles.
A press release by Imphal West police mentioned that a search operation was conducted at Thangmeiband Thingel Leikai, Imphal West yesterday at around 3:45 pm.
The arrested person is identified as Leimajam Sanou alias Loya alias Ibungo alias Jiban (30), son of Kumar Singh of Kharasom Makha Leikai, the release said.
He holds the rank of Lieutenant in the RPF and is a divisional secretary in charge, the statement added.
According to sources, he is in charge of division number 4 of the RPF. Articles seized from him include a two wheeler, one laptop, a dongle , one pendrive, some SIM cards, 13 numbers of printed festoons of the upcoming RPF raising day and a voter I-Card .
On his interrogation, another two active members of the group have also been arrested today. They are Takhellembam Gandhi (40),s/o Samu and Thangjam Tolen (40), son of Irabot, both from Lairenkabi Maning Leikai, Lamsang PS, the source added.
Meanwhile, a team of Thoubal district Police Commandos arrested one recruiting officer of KYKL namely Thoudam Joykumar Singh (51), son of Th Jugindro Singh of Ngaikhong Siphai Mamang Leikai during a search operation conducted at Pallel Bazar area today around 2.30 pm and rescued a youth identified as Arambam Deba Meitei (24), son of (L) A Dharma Meitei of Koirengei Bazar, said a press release issued by Dr AK Jhalajit Singh, SP Thoubal District.
One Lemon Mobile Handset was recovered from the possession of the arrested person and on verification of the youth, it was revealed that he was handed over to the recruiting officer to be recruited for KYKL by one Haobijam Robinson Singh of Koirengei Mamang Leikai, the release added.
