Two suspects in Feb 26 IED blast at Lamka arrested

LAMKA, May 10: The 1/11 Gorkha Rifles has arrested two persons suspected to be responsible for the fatal IED blast of February 26, 2013 at Tualbung village along the Tiddim Road in the suburbs of Lamka town, informed a source.

The person identified as Lalthanglian alias Kancha (27), son of Dongvom Vaiphei of S Bualzang village was arrested around 10:00 am this morning while the other identified as Wangjam Shanti Kumar alias Maimu (32), son of Wangjam Kesho Kumar was arrested around 9:30am.

The source identified both as members of the proscribed UNLF.

The two were later handed over to the CCPur police around 2:30pm where a case under FIR no. 21(2)2013.CCP- PS U/S 121/121-A/307/826/34 IPC has been filed against them, the source added.
