CM inspects construction work at Imphal Airport

IMPHAL, April 30: The Chief Minister Okram Ibobi visited Imphal Airport and inspected the progress of the construction work in connection with the upgradation of Tulihal Airport to an International Airport.
Inspecting the progress of construction work, the Chief Minister advised the persons concerned to finish the construction within May possibly with quality control while disclosing to the media persons that an effort is being made to operate international flights within June or in the first week of July at the latest. In connection with upgrading to International Airport, the Chief Minister said that the state government acquired 700 acres of land and there is a total of around 1100 acres of land for the airport. He added that the construction work is being taken up by Airport Authority of India. The chief Minister took a tour around the boundary of the newly acquired area of land for the airport for inspection.
During the visit, Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, Works Minister Ratankumar, MLA RK Anand, Chief Secretary DS Poonia, DGP, Y Joykumar and other high ranking officials were also present.
