Riders provide medical balm to Kamjong village

IMPHAL, October 1: Royal Riders Manipur organized a medical camp at Kamjong sub-division which comes under Ukhrul district on September 28. Organized under the theme “Serving in Adventure”, at least 23 Bullet Enfield’s and 42 members rode more than 130 kilometers and provided medical treatment and free medicines to the villagers.

The medical camp was attended by approximately 260 villagers from Kamjong, and adjoining villages of Kamjong Khullen, Khunjao, Phange etc.

Despite the incessant rain and fog, many villagers braved the weather and availed the free medical treatment at the camp.

Dental problems, skin infections, ENT, liver ailments, arthritis, and malnutrition in children were treated by the doctors. The medical camp is a self-sponsored voluntary effort of the Royal Riders and comes under their calendar activity and is conducted without any financial help from any State department.

On the concluding day, the village chief was presented with sports equipments in the interest of propagating sportsmanship in the interior areas of the State. The residents of Kamjong village thanked the riders for their yeoman service including the doctors of the camp, Dr Premjit, Haraba and Diwakar .

The Royal Riders conducts two medical camps in a year following application seeking medical attention from an interior village of the State. The program has been ongoing since 2007.
