AMFA announces action against AIM officials, players

IMPHAL, October 24: Following yesterday assault of a match referee of the 8th Manipur State League by players and supporters of the one of the teams, resulting in the abandonment of the match, the All Manipur Football Association has release a lengthy memorandum announcing its decision on the matter.

The memorandum said the MSL committee of the Manipur State League has examined the report of the referee, 4th referee and match commissioner of match no 45 between Zomi Footbal Club, CCpur and Anouba Imagi Mangal, Khabam played on October 23 at the Khuman Lampak, Main Stadium.

It said the report has clearly state that the match was abandoned in the 47th minute of the match as the referee M Magho was attacked and assaulted by the players and supporters of AIM.

It also said that the referee had noted that red card was shown to the Captain of AIM, N Shangkar Singh at the 47th min for using abusive language and threatening words; thereafter N Shangkar Singh attacked him by kicking, punching and using abusive language.

Having duly examined the reports and eye-witnesses/AMFA officials who were present at the stadium, it said it was decided to place N Shangkar of AIM under suspension for a period of 5 yrs with immediate effect with a fine of Rs 20000 for physically assaulting the referee payable within November 30; to place Kh Deben (Goalie) of AIM under suspension for a period of three months with immediate effect with a fine of Rs 5000 only payable within November 30, for advancing with a high speed from their position towards sideline with a clear intention to attack the referee.

It also said that it was decided to place S Johnson and O Surjit under suspension for a period of two months with immediate effect with a fine of Rs 3000 each for blocking the way of the referee while he was trying to move towards the referees’ dressing room thereby helping other to attack the Referee payable within November 30; to place W Khogen Singh, Coach of AIM under suspension for a period of one yr with immediate effect with a fine of Rs 5,000 for inciting the supporters and players to assault the referee payable within November 30; to place M Ashok (Manager), T Bangkim (Asst Manager), N Mangalsana (Asst Coach) and M Manoj (Dr/Physio) under suspension for a period of three months for failing to control players of their team.

The All Manipur Football Association has also decided to ban Kh Loyalakpa from entering any stadium/ground where the activities of AMFA and its affiliated units are holding for a period of 10 yrs with immediate effect, it said before adding to dissociate Kh Loyalakpa for life from AMFA and its affiliated units related organizations.

It also said that it was decided to forfeit the match of AIM played on October 23 (Match No.45) of the 8th MSL 2013 with a scoreline of 3 - 0 goals in favour of ZFC under Art 31 of the AMFA Disciplinary Code.
