Company dupes investors, many contemplates legal action

JIRIBAM, September 9: A private company under the name 'Brite Manpower Consultancy Limited' based in Ambicapatty, Silchar has reportedly vanished after collecting around Rs Two lakhs from the people of Jiribam sub-division.
Alleging the fraudulent case, Minakshi Nath, Chairman of a committee formed by members who had joined the said company during a press meet held at the office of Eastern Post said the two main agents of the company namely Regima Begum, Ward Member of Sunapur GP along with her husband Abdul Matalip had gone door to door to convince people about the benefit one can gain from the company.
When some people refused to join the company saying that various other companies in the past had duped many people after assuring certain benefits, the duo had replied that if the company failed to deliver its assurances then they would pay back all the money the members deposited with the company.
The two main agents of the company have not released the due amount of some members of the company though maturity certificate were issued after taking Account Pass Books from the members, he alleged.
He further informed that when the two agents showed reluctance to refund Rs 2, 01, 210 which the company collected from 42 members, the members brought up the matter with the Pradhan of Sunapur GP following which, an understanding was reached.
According to the agreement, the two main agents were to return the total deposited amount within four months by paying 25 percent each month to each of the members.
But the agents refused to act in accordance with the agreement saying that they would not refund the money at any cost, he said.
Suspecting foul play over the duo’s act, the members made a visit at the headoffice of the company at Silchar and found the office locked and the sign board missing, said the members.
Taking strong exception to the matter, he said stringent legal action would be initiated against the two agents for duping members of the company by making false assurances.
