Ak Mirabai encourages milk producers union to reach 20000 litres milk/day target

IMPHAL, September 9: The Manipur Milk Producers Co-operative Union Ltd has set a target to produce 20,000 liters of milk per day within five years which needs to be accomplished, said Social Welfare minister Ak Mirabai Devi.
Addressing the inaugural of a three day long farmers training programme at the office premise of the Manipur Milk Producers Co-operative Union Ltd at Porompat, the only woman minister in the state cabinet said meeting the target will be an added advantage for the state.
She further continued that her department is discussing on whether to provide good bred cows to the co-operative societies of the state by searching from the state or to acquire the total 300 cows from outside the state.
The co-operative societies under the diary plant need to be strengthened which will automatically strengthened the Manipur Milk Producers Co-operative Union, she said and continued that the 241 societies under the diary plant must work hard with joining hand to fulfill their target.
She appealed to the co-operative societies to work collectively as they play an important role in the development of co-operative movement in the state.
