Myanmar citizen seized with 2061 WY tablets

IMPHAL, August 5: A team of the Anti-Smuggling Unit, Imphal Customs Division arrested one Myanmar nationalist along with 2061 tablets of Amphetamine, World is Yours (WY) worth around Rs 20,60,000 from the Moreh-Tali Road at around 2pm under Moreh Police station.
Sources have informed that the arrested Myanmar nationalist, identified as Tamong (30), son of U-Tal-Shwe of Tamu Ward number 6 south Mayanmar, was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The cost of the tablets are pegged ar Rs one thousand per tablet and is said to cost more than ten times in the international market.
WY tablets is manufactured from Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine contain tablets after refining the tablets.
The (WY) tablets drug is extensively abused in western countries and metropolitan cities of India and as of Manipur, the percentage of the WY tablet use is in very low scale, sources said.
