5th AR and Drivers’ Union extends help to injured drivers

IMPHAL, August 29: Two truck drivers namely- Md Amir Khan and Chandeshor Yadav who were seriously injured when their trucks collided head on at Mao on August 28 last around 5 am have been administered first aid and later shifted to Dimapur for further treatment under the supervision of Asst Commandant KR Chouhan 5th Assam Rifles, Tadubi post; Athiko Ranbir, president Drivers’ Union and Pukelo, informed a press release of the Senapati District Drivers Welfare Union.

It said Md Amir Khan, a resident of Kauta was driving a truck bearing registration no AS-01EC-4068 which belongs to one Gopal Prasad of Bishenpur while Chandeshor Yadav from Dimapur was driving another truck bearing registration no NL-07A 4002 owned by Md Mazar of Barma Camp.

The Senapati District Drivers’ Union, Surface Transport Hill Area Drivers’ Welfare Union along with Drivers’ Union, Manipur also hailed Asst Commandant KR Chouhan for clearing the road which was blocked due to the accident by using recovery crane and said it was hopeful that 5th AR would extend assistance in such situations in the future, the release stated.
