HC sets date for 10AR over Rajanlung case

IMPHAL, July 6: The Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) has today issued a press release stating that on July 5, 2013, the Division Bench of the High Court of Manipur comprising of the Chief Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre and his companion Justice N Kotiswar Singh has in response to a Writ Petition WP (Cril) No. 24 of 2013 filed by a petitioner namely Thuinilung Kamei passed an order directing the Commanding Officer of the 10th Assam Rifles to produce the body (corpus) of one Rajanlung Kamei before the Court on July 8, 2013 at 10:30 am.The press release further said that Thuinilung Kamei, elder brother of Rajanlung Kamei filed a Writ Petition on the illegal arrest and detention of his younger brother who was called upon by the Commanding Officer to his Unit Post to meet him on June 22, 2013 at his camp at Longmai Village (Noney), Tamenglong. It added that the said Rajanlung Kamei was kept thereafter under illegal confinement for several days by the Commanding Officer of the 10th Assam Rifles until the dissemination
