CCPur Anganwadi helpers, workers take out honorarium demand rally

LAMKA, July 30: The whole aganwadi workers and helpers of CCpur today took to the streets protesting against the failure of the government to pay their salaries and honorarium for 14 months.
The peaceful rally started from Hiagtam Lamka, Public Ground and headed towards the DC office around noon.
Placards saying “We demand 14 months of honorarium”, “Save the ICDS (CSS) employees” and others were displayed during the rally.
A memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner was also submitted by the Aganwadi workers of Ccpur in which they stated that though the Social Welfare Ministry had sanctioned two months honorarium, the same for 14 months have not been sanctioned which has only created trouble for the workers and helpers.
The memorandum also stated that if they are not getting any positive response from the authorities they will intensify their protest.
The president of Aganwadi workers in Ccpur, Veineilhing said that they are also demanding from the authorities for a mechanism that will ensure that the workers and helpers to receive their honorarium on a monthly basis.
ADC of CCpur Maniram Sharma, who received the memorandum in the absence of the DC, admitted that it was the duty of the administration to redress the genuine complaints of the Aganwadi workers; and further promised that he will forward their memorandum to the competent authority as soon as possible, amidst cheers from the workers.
The president of CDAA also said that no stone will be left unturned till the demand is met by the govt, which she said had been holdup by the state govt, though the center govt had already sanctioned it through the Integrated Child Development Service.
There are 10 blocks or Integrated Child Dev. Service (ICDS) project and 1010 numbers of Aganwadi center in Ccpur District whose workers and helpers took part in today’s rally.
