IMPHAL, May 30: A press release from The Council of Tribal Languages and Literature Societies, Manipur (CTLLSM) said that CTLLSM expressed happiness that the Government of Manipur granted the status of Major Tribal Dialect of Manipur to the languages of Gangte, Liangmai and Paumai and approved them for introduction in the schools, adding that this has enabled the said language groups to promote their languages in the time to come through mother tongue education in the State.
It went on to say that it is truly a historic decision taken by the UPF Government (of Manipur) under the able leadership of the Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri O.lbobi Singh.
Herewith the CTLLSM applauded Minister (Education), M.Oken Singh, a dynamic leader and MAN OF THE TIME, who had been spearheading the matter to this end.
Language touch is considered to be the best touch for nourishment of emotional integrity and unity of Manipur, it said.
It continued that languages in Manipur are the mosaic of State integrity and the approval of these languages is one of the landmark decisions recently taken in the State in a span of about 20 years. Still we have to go ahead with this noble task to rope in the languages of Zeme, Maram, Inpui, Maring, Anal, Chiru, Kharam, Thangal and many others to the mainstream of the State in this age of mother tongue education, it added.
