AMUCO, UCM join hands for June 18 observation

IMPHAL, May 8: The All Manipur United Club Organization (AMUCO) and the United Committee, Manipur (UCM) has today announced that the two organizations will be observing the anniversary of June 18.
18 persons including a woman were killed in CRPF firing during the imbroglio which broke out in the state against a clause “beyond territorial limits” in the ceasefire between the Government and the NSCN (IM).
The day will be observed as the “The Great June Uprising Unity Day, 2013” at Kekhrupat.
The announcement was made by AMUCO president KT Rahman during a press conference held this evening at the AMUCO office.
The observation will be organized by a joint team of the two organizations, “the Observation Committee” of which the AMUCO president has been appointed as the chairman.
He further expressed that the two organizations will try to observe the day jointly next year too and further appealed to the people of the state to enable the program to be a success.
