Another people road in Sangaikot TD block

LAMKA, April 13: In a reminiscent of the 'Peoples’ Road' in Tamenglong district of Manipur  a small village in the Sangaikot TD block, CCPur has also constructed a road driven by the sheer power of the people and those of philanthropists from the area turning the decapitated road into a road that now allows passenger buses to ply and fulfill a long cherished dream of the locals.

The construction of the road between Khongnoi to T Khongkhai have been made possible by the active participation of the people of the area  who supplied manual work and was aided by the generous contribution from the local MLA GS Haupu of 60 Singat AC who contributed Rs 1 lakh.

Pumtulthang Lienzo who is the chief of L Alpha village and the chairman of the area chief committee contributed the service of a JCB.

The drive for the road and its construction started on April 6 and is expected end by April 15 but  already,  the result of the hard work of the people are showing as evident from the passenger buses plying on the road stretch.

Earlier, locals of the area had complained much to the government over the condition of the road stretch but had fallen on deaf ears which encouraged them  to take up action on their own.
