Ratan attends Eid at B’luru

IMPHAL, August 27: State Works Minister and Special Emissary Dr Kh Ratan Kumar on Sunday attended the Eid Milan function hosted by CK Jaffer Sharief Family Foundation at Palace Grounds, Bangalore. The Eid Milan party was orgnaised under the theme of Peace, Harmony, Secularism, Social Justice and Common Brotherhood in view of the developments in the northeast.
In the said function, Dr Kh Ratan Kumar interacted with Karnataka Governor Dr HR Bharadwaj who attended as the Chief Guest.
The function was attended by prominent personalities from various walks of life including political bigwigs from the State of Karnataka.
Governor Bharadwaj expressed his happiness that the people from Northeast are returning back to his state Karnataka.
During an informal conversation, Dr Bhardwaj reiterated that he always had close bonds with Northeast India and especially with the people of Manipur.
He said that the Karnataka Raj Bhavan is open to the people of Northeast. He recollected with pleasure the Manipuri Kummei that he had hosted in his Raj Bhavan in the month of February 2012.
After the Eid Milan function Dr Ratan Kumar could interact with the representatives of people of Northeastern States residing in Bangalore including the people of Manipur.
Today Dr Ratan Kumar called on the Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar in his office.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka told him that there is complete normalcy in Bangalore and that all possible measures have been taken up to safeguard the interests of the people of Northeast.
He said that he has sent his Deputy Chief Minister to Northeastern States including Manipur to appeal to the people who have left the State to return.
Dr Ratan Kumar conveyed the personal greetings of Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and expressed his happiness about the care and concern shown by the Government of Karnataka towards the people of Northeast including Manipuris when fear psychosis gripped the minds of the people of Northeast.
