President's rule revoked in Jharkhand

New Delhi, July 13: The nearly six-month-long President's rule in Jharkhand was on Saturday revoked to pave the way for installation of a government led by JMM leader Hemant Soren.

"The President of India Pranab Mukherjee has today (July 13, 2013) signed the Proclamation under clause (2) of the article 356 of the Constitution revoking the Proclamation issued on 18 January 2013, in relation to the State of Jharkhand," a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan said on Saturday morning.
The President's rule was imposed in the state on 18th January following political instability.
