PANDM condemns drug traffickers

IMPHAL, April 30: The People’s Action For National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has condemned the acts of the drug traffickers who try to become rich overnight and harm the youth, in a press release of the organization.

The statement has also said that the public should not take such actions lightly.

It can only be conceived as an act of India to denigrate an entire generation and destroy the whole society.

Pointing out that the Assam Rifles PRO and the son of MLA/Minister and others, besides 11 state police personnel  including a Sub Inspector and a Jamadar have so far been arrested on charges of drug trafficking, the statement said  that the organization lauds the action of the Thoubal police team that had made the arrest.

Arrest kingpin: CADA

IMPHAL, April 30: The Coalition against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) has come out strongly against the drug trafficking being perpetrated in the state. A statement mentioned that the scenario of security personnel being held with drugs suggests that there are powerful players involved in the drug trade and mostly enjoying political status. It seems that they still remain untouchable whereas the weaker scapegoats are arrested. "The Home department has still to produce a kingpin in connection with the numerous seizures and evidently is trying to cover up and protect the powerful individuals," it alleged.
