MoU signed to shift KYKL (MDF) from Chandel

IMPHAL, May 25: The Chandel District Naga-Kuki Joint Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government on May 25 regarding shifting of the camp of the KYKL (MDF) group from Chandel District.
The memorandum has said, “The Chandel District Naga-Kuki Joint Committee met Deputy Chief Minister and discussed the issue relating to keeping the surrendered cadres of KYKL (MDF) in Chandel district”.
It said the committee has raised objection to keeping the designated camp within Chandel district and the Deputy Chief Minister categorically assured that the present arrangement is only temporary and all the cadres will be shifted to permanent Designated Camps.
It further continued that after due deliberations, the parties agreed that the cadres of KYKL (MDF) will be shifted to a regular Designated Camp located outside Chandel district as early as possible and that the State Government will take all possible precautions to prevent commitment of any untoward incidents or activities by any of the cadres of the KYKL (MDF) group.
The committee also agreed to withdraw all types of agitations in this regard with immediate effect.
It also said that the terms were agreed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and MLA, D Korungthang.
The MoU was signed by Joint Secretary Home department, Government of Manipur Dr Shailesh Kr Chaurasia.
