JAC clamours for action in “JNIMS death”

IMPHAL, May 12: The JAC formed against “the unnatural death of Karam Bishorjit” due to alleged negligence of the on duty doctors of JNIMS, has said in a statement that the Karam Bishorjit Meitei’s death is unreasonable.
It said the people of the state should not take the incident lightly as he was taken into the operation theatre for a simple operation but brought out dead.
It is also time for actions against careless doctors, it added.
The statement said failure to conduct a Pre Anaesthetic Check-up and to check Blood Pressure before any operation whether it is a major or minor operation is unheard of anywhere else in the world.
The government should not protect the doctors and staffs who had failed to comply by the procedure, it said.
The JAC further said that the dead body is still at the JNIMS mortuary.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the JAC held at the Kongba Bazar this evening has resolved to initiate strong agitations from the 6am of May 14 in case the government fail to take suitable action by 4pm of May 13.
The JAC further appealed to the people of the state to support the actions of the JAC.
