Foot writer releases third book

IMPHAL, April 24: Satyakumar Sanjenbam (58), living with cerebral palsy and battling with being a quadriplegic with no function of both his upper limbs and no mobility along with poor speech has released his third book titled “Thamoi Wareng” at the Spastic Society of Manipur today.
What makes Satyakumar's efforts all the more inspiring is that he has not received any formal training in art and painting nor has he any formal education. But none of these factors stop his love for art and literature. He was not discouraged even when his work did not receive any recognition when he first started off due to lack of in exposure, unawareness and lack of support.
The art lover does foot painting on Manipur culture and social issues and he has already authored two books on poems and stories on the saga of person with disabilities. His first book titled “Mimannadrabagi Thengthakhol”, meaning woes of underprivileged which consist of 10 short stories and 36 poems was published by Nomita Khongbantabam in 1999.
His second book came out in 2006, titled “Pukhingee Tengtha Leichal” which means bouquet of love. This book has 2 poems on the woes of differently abled persons and was published by Bobby Wanghengbam.
The foot writer was finally acknowledged for his hard work and with the initiative of the Spastic Society of Manipur. During the course of time, he has been felicitated for his books and his paintings.
The release function of his third book was attended byK. Radhakumar Singh, DC Imphal West as the Chief Guest and Ng. Tejkumar Singh as President.
