NE theatre fest from Feb 13

IMPHAL, Feb 9: The 3rd North East Theatre Festival 2013 hosted by NT Theatre would be held from February 13 to 20 at Changangei Uche-ckon 'Hongnemshang' play- house of the event host, said NT theatre director Ningthouja Deepak, who is also the festival director. Informing that theatre groups from Assam and Tri-pura would also take part at the festival which will have a total of seven plays, Deepak stated that aim of organising the festival is to bring about cultural integrity in the North Eastern region. Plays by different theatre groups would be based on their respective folk-tales and culture, he added.

The host group would open the festival with its play entitled 'The priestess', while in the remaining days 'Jagnath Amashung Singjang' by Cosmo Drama (Manipur), '9 Days News paper' of Treasure Art Association (Manipur), 'Ashalatagee Hakchang' by Banian Repertory Theatre (Manipur), 'Richo Ekopai (Oedipus)' of Ba Assam Ba Guwahati, 'Ultimate Fly' of Nirghosh Nikwan Tripura' and 'Chithi Puba Uchek' of Theatre Mirror (Manipur) would be staged.
