MPA celebrates anniversary

IMPHAL, Feb 9, 2013 : The Manipur People’s Army (MPA), the armed wing of UNLF, celebrated its 26th anniversary today at its general head-quarters; units, battalion head- quarters, tactical headquarters and the outfit’s CHQ and Branch Unit headquarters.

The main highlights of the anniversary celebration included offering floral tributes to ‘patriots’ who sacrificed their lives in the wars for sovereignty; reading out message of the MAC Chairman, who is also the acting Chairman of the outfit, to the people and reading message from MPA’s COAS to the MPAs and retrospection on the ongoing re- volutionary movement, said a statement issued by UNLF senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba.

Besides wagging war against the Indian army, the importance of weaving unity and trust among the multi-ethnic groups of the people was also underlined at the occasion. All MPAs also com- mitted to exemplarily uphold the principle of making supreme sacrifice, it added.
