Consultative Committee of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Meets

New Delhi, February 20, 2013: The 12th Meeting of Consultative Committee attached to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways was held here today. Chairing the Meeting on the topic “Schemes under (NH(O) (National Highways(original))” here today, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Dr. C.P.Joshi reviewed the activities undertaken Schemes under (NH(O).

Major schemes under NH(O) include Special programme for improvement of NHs to 2-lane standards following corridor development approach, National Highway Interconnectivity Improvement Programme(NHIIP) under proposed World Bank Loan Assistance, Private Sector Investment for Development of Non-NHDP National Highways ,4-Laning Projects under JBIC Loan Assistance, Maintenance of balance 17,500Kms of NHS not covered under any of the above.

The Minister of State Shri Minister of State of Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Tushar A. Chaudhary was also present. The members attached the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways that attended the meeting include Sardar Sukhdev Singh-IBRA, Mohinder Singh Kaypee, R.Sambasiva Rao , Jesudasu Seelam , Thawar Chand Gehlot and Shri Govind Prasad Mishra . The Minister thanked Members of Parliament for their valuable inputs and assured to accommodate their suggestions as far as possible.

Senior officicers and enginneers from the Ministry and NHAI(National Highways Authority of India) were present in the meeting.
