Year long golden jubilee celebration concludes

LAMKA, October 3: The year-long Golden Jubilee celebration of the Siamsinpawlpi (SSPP) Jt Hqrs Shillong concluded on October 2, 2013 at Usoso Tham Auditorium Shillong. A souvenir was also released on the occasion.
A special attraction of the function was the Daal Laam (Gong Dance) and Phiit Laam (bamboo whistling dance) which was performed by the Shillong Paite Cultural Troupe.
To mark the Golden Jubilee Year, the Pawlpi has been observing a year-long celebration starting with the publication of the Golden Jubilee Calendar 2013. A Golden Jubilee Football Tournament was organized from January 5-12, 2013 at Lamka Public Ground, Manipur.
A National Seminar on “Democratization Process and the Zomis” was also organized at NEHU, Shillong on 19th & 20th March, 2013. Moreover, a cultural-cum-musical event viz., “The Music Extravaganza” was held at Don Bosco Technical Hall, Laitumkhrah, Shillong on the 18th May 2013.
