Monitoring cell debars two student candidates

IMPHAL, October 9: The Monitoring Cell of the Colleges and Higher Secondary School Students’ Union Election 2013-14, an apex body of AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS formed in connection with the ensuing colleges union has debarred two candidates from contesting in the college’s union election for not complying with the code of conduct laid down by the monitoring cell.

A statement issued by the monitoring cell said the two candidates namely Tongbram Anilkumar, BA 1st semester of Imphal College who was to contest as Finance Secy candidate and Mutum Romi, B Com 5th semester of DM College, a  Finance Secy candidate have already submitted a report to the monitoring cell accepting the decision taken by the monitoring cell.

The statement alleged that N Sofia Devi, student of Bachelor of Food Technology, SK Women College had campaigned for T Anilkumar inside the Imphal College campus by wearing the college uniform while M Romi is being accused of using intoxicants along with some of his companions inside the Commerce hostel of DM College on October 7 around 8:30 pm.
