IMPHAL, October 7: Momnu Eerikhombi Lup (MEEKHOL) celebrated its 10th foundation day at Utra Shanglen, Royal Palace at the Palace Compound today. Speaking on the occasion, soocial activist and editor of Aja, Valley Rose said that completing of 10 years is a great success, and added that MEEKHOL has always stood for the upliftment of the status of women in the society.
She further appealed that the civil societies should work together for the upliftmen of the society at large and to solve the problems threatening the state in recent times.
President, MEEKHOL, Ak Janki Leima also expressed that the ancestors worked hard together for a better society and to safeguard the state and added that the ancestors have the tradition of self-reliance and self-dependence which should be retrieved.
However, the present scenario is that the state is depending on the outside states for most commodities and as such had to face much hardship whenever the highways are blocked, she lamented.
