Leitanthem Ram Singh memorial literary prize awarded

IMPHAL, October 20: The Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal branch in association with Leitanthem Ram Singh Memorial Trust has today organized the 11th annual general meeting of the Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal branch at Progressive English School Lamding.
During the function, the conferment award of the 1st Leitanthem Ram Singh Memorial Literary Award 2013 was also held.
The Award was conferred to Naorem Ahanjao Meitei of Nambol Naorem Panthoibi Leikai in Bishnupur district. The award was selected for his drama ‘Thoinu’. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 30,000 (thirty thousand) accompanied by a loin cloth and a citation.
The function was attended by the president of Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal as chief guest and presided over by Tonjao Meidingu, president of the Thoubal branch.
Dr RK Yaiskul, president of the memorial trust and Naorem Gandhar, chief patron of Thoubal branch were also attending function as guests of honour respectively.
During the function, renowned litterateur M Rajendro Singh delivered an extensive lecture on the works and life of Leitangthem Ram Singh, which was followed by poem recital moderated by Y Dhananjoy Singh.
