Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra sworn in as Manipur High Court judge

IMPHAL, October 21: Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra, the former judge of Allahabad High Court, was sworn in as a judge of the High Court of Manipur at a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan.
The swearing-in-ceremony was conducted by Governor of Manipur Ashwani Kumar.
During the function, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh; Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam; Chief Justice in-charge of Manipur High Court, Justice N Kotiswar, MLAs; Ministers; and other officials attended.
Speaking to media persons after the swearing-in-ceremony, Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra said that he will try to ensure speedy justice in the state. He added that there are many social related issues which can be solved without approaching the court and if possible should be settled outside.
He expressed his happiness on becoming one of the judges of High Court of Manipur, and added that he will try to dispose all the pending cases in different courts of the state.
The swearing-in-ceremony was conducted by Governor of Manipur Ashwani Kumar.
