UTLA (SK Thadou) chairman wants leaders from hills to join Jiribam district demand movement

JIRIBAM, September 26: A VIP’s Fresher’s Meet cum Felicitation programme organized by United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA – SK Thadou) was held today at Muktokhal (Leisangphai) playground under Tousem sub-division in Tamenglong district with K Ibungomacha, UP Pradhan attending as the functional president.
While delivering the welcome address, home secy UTLA (SK- Thadou) hailed village chiefs and leaders who have come from different parts of the state to take part in the function and stated that development would come only when there is peace so at first there is a need to bring in peace.
Chairman SK Thadou said cadres of UTLA (SK Thadou) who could not take part in the home coming ceremony held under the initiative of Shambhu Kumar Singh, Joint Secy (North East) MHA and Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary Home, Govt of Manipur on July 17, have now joined the peace process.
He added the peace process had arrived due to the hard effort of the 22nd AR.
Saying that the initiatives taken up by Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) to confer Jiribam sub-division with full- fledged district is commendable and acceptable, he questioned why leaders of the hills and village chiefs have not been invited to join in the movement.
He further appealed the village chiefs and leaders of the hills to work sincerely for the service of people and villages.
Later, the participants observed one minute silence as a mark of respect to the deceased cadres of the outfit.
The function was also attended by people leaders, officials and people from different village.
