Court fixes next TG rape case hearing on Sept 27

IMPHAL, Sept 23: The Public Prosecutor of State forwarded an argument before the District and Session Court Manipur (East) on the Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School student rape case today during the case’s final hearing.

The two accused were produced before the court during the hearing and the court has fixed September 27 as the next day of hearing of the case.

Speaking to media persons outside the court Complex, Public Prosecutor Ng Tejkumar said that the state has forwarded the argument along with the statement of 20 witnesses in the TG School Student rape case before the court today and the court has fixed September 27 as the next day of hearing.

It may be mentioned that a class XII student of TG Higher Secondary School was allegedly raped in a restaurant at Changangei Uchekon along Imphal Airport road on October 20, 2012.

Two persons accused of the crime namely Yumnam William of Khagempalli Panthak, a driver with the Manipur Police Commando and Thongam Tarun of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, a Manipuri digital film actor, are presently lodged at Sajiwa Central Jail under judicial custody under section 366/376 of the IPC under FIR number 460(10)2012.
