IMPHAL, Sept 25: The fourth edition of Chinjak festival “Chinjak Festival (4) – Regional” will start from October 25 and continue till November 3 organized. The food festival which has over the years seen food lovers throng in for a bite is being organized by the Innovative Youth Society in association with BOSS Juices. Managing Director, Board of Chinjak Festival, Khuraijam Athouba while addressing a press conference at its office today said that this year’s edition will be the first in the state to have participation from various ethnic communities of the North Eastern region namely Sema of Nagaland; Ao Nagas of Nagaland; Karbi of Assam; Bodo of Assam; Khasi of Meghalaya.
The festival will have 35 unique local stalls of the state showcasing the indigenous food of different ethnic communities, he said.
Athouba continued that the objective of organizing the Chinjak festival is to promote the traditional and indigenous food of the region, the Innovative Youth Society will continue to strive for an inclusive participation from all the ethnic communities of the NE states.
