AMME & WUM mulls stir on 6th Pay and other schemes

IMPHAL, August 31: The All Manipur Municipality Employee and Workers Union, Manipur held a meeting today at the meeting hall of Moirang Municipal Council in connection with the demands placed before the government regarding implementation of 6th Pay, Pension Scheme and resolved to launch series of intense agitation including general strike and closing down of Municipal Council’s office in case the concerned authority do not address the demands at the earliest.
A statement issued by S Norendro Singh, secy AMME & WUM said the union has been demanding implementation of 6th Pay, Pension Scheme and Caderisation System since the last two/three months as employees of eight Municipality are entitled to get the same benefits like any other employees of the government under Section 46 Clause of MM Act 1994.
Stating that already, two rounds of talks have been held with the Chief Minister of the State on the matter, the statement further said the cease work strike had started from August 3 in protest against the inaction of the government.
