Two days workshop on culture for peace held

IMPHAL, August 11: A two days workshop on culture for peace was held in commemoration with the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The workshop was organised by Meitei Traditional Dance Teaching School and Performing Centre, Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai, RIMS road at the office of the performing centre.
On the concluding day workshop, Dr M Thoiba Singh, ?Assistant professor in the Department of Dance, Manipur University, Dr Akashini Devi, principal of the Naorem Birahari College and Dr L Kullachandra Singh, a worker of the Manipur Prant Sanyojak have presented their thematic papers on culture for peace. The papers presented in the workshop have discussed the culture for peace and also life and works of Swami Vivekananda.
At the end of the workshop, there was a discourse on the presented workshop papers by the three resource persons moderated by the president of the performing centre, Elam Indira Devi.
Elam Indira Devi, president of the Performing Centre in an interaction with IFP said that her Centre is planning to organize a special dance program portraying the social and humanity services of Swami Vivekananda in the later part of the commemorative year of the 150th birth anniversary and further went to add that a souvenir will also be published in this regard.
