Sadar Hills- Moreh transportation link likely from next week

KANGPOKPI, August 17: A passenger or public transport service between Sadar Hills Area and International Trade Centre i.e. Moreh Town will be started soon.
To promote the economic and communication status of Sadar Hills Areas, efforts were being made for the last many months to start a passenger or public transport service between the International Trade Centre i.e Moreh Town and Sadar Hills Areas and now the service is in a position to be started from next week said Thangkholun Touthang, president Sadar Hills Area to Moreh Town Public Transport Association, Manipur during the inauguration function of the Sadar Hills (Kangpokpi) to Moreh Town Passenger Service Parking here today.
The parking for the Sadar Hills (Kangpokpi) to Moreh Passenger/Public Transport was inaugurated by Rev Tongjang Haokip, chairman Town Churches Fellowship, Kangpokpi during a simple function held at the office of the Kangpokpi Town Committee here today.
The function was also attended by Chonkam Kipgen, chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee and his better half along with the president and secretary of Sadar Hills Area to Moreh Town Public Transport Association Manipur.
Some of the Town Committee members also attended the function.
Thangkholun Touthang, president of Sadar Hills Area to Moreh Town Public Transport Association Manipur said that parking for Saikul and Leimakhong for the same line has been inaugurated before Kangpokpi.
The service for the three stations is scheduled to start from 19 August 2013.
He also said that Singda to Moreh Parking will be soon inaugurated and as soon as it is inaugurated, the service will start immediately.
Currently when the passenger or public transport service is started in the three stations three vehicles each will ply from each station and counter will be open in each station, said Touthang while adding that for Saikul area, Kamgoulen Haokip may be contacted and for Kangpokpi area, a counter is being opened at Pimon Tea Hotel.
Touthang further said that, the service will be of much convenience for the denizens of the Sadar Hills areas to visit the International Trade Centre for any kind of purposes.
He also appealed to the general public as well as well-wishers of the concerned areas to co-operate with the Association.
