CPI MP Raja to raise fencing row in Rajya Sabha today

IMPHAL, Aug 28: The issue arising out of the Indo-Myanmar fencing row will be raised tomorrow at the ongoing Rajya Sabha sitting to find out the exact stand of the government of India in regard to the issue from the Union Home Ministry.
This was said by Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council (CPI/MSC) secretary Dr M Nara Singh speaking to IFP today.
A ‘special motion’ will be raised in the Rajya Sabha by the party’s Tamil Nadu MP D Raja in regard to the issue arsing in the state over the Indo-Myanmar fencing row.
The Rajya Sabha Speaker has given the approval to raise the motion in the House tomorrow, he said.
MP D Raja had asked to send him the supporting documents for the motion to be raised in the House tomorrow and following which CPI/MSC office has sent the relevant documents, he added.
It may be mentioned here that on August 26, 2013, Principal Secretary (Home) Dr J Sureshbabu led team, one of the officers’ level committees constituted by the state government considering the seriousness of the issue, had conducted a spot verification at the disputed border areas.
The new Governor of the state Dr Ashwanikumar had also inspected the said areas yesterday.
