Cordon and search operation continues ahead of I Day

IMPHAL, August 3: Imphal West district police continued to conduct cordon and search operations as part of the security measures taken up ahead of Independence Day celebration.
Search operations were conducted at Lalambung area under Imphal police station today morning.
All together 61 non local and 16 local where picked up by the police and handed over to the Imphal west police for proper verification and later all the detained person were released following proper verification.
The cordon and search operation was conducted under the supervision of Dy SP (Commando) Imphal West S Ibomcha from early morning.
Locals of the area were called out from their respective residence and verification work done at Community hall located at Thingel Maru.
Tenants who could not produce proper verification proof were detained by the police.
