UN Resident Coordinator unveils “Ability village” foundation stone at CCPur

IMPHAL, July 27: United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative Lise Granade today unveiled the foundation stone for Ability Village, an empowerment centre for differently abled persons at Pearsonmun, Lamka, Churachandpur.
Many dignitaries from the district as well as the state attended the function.
She was accompanied on her maiden visit to this part of the country by Hardiv Singh, CEO and Founder of Salwan Media, his wife and other UN officials.
Lise Grande as the chief guest of the occasion lauded the initiative taken by the Ability Village authorities and said “The UN fundamental founding principle is to protect the dignity of human, which had been approve by the more than 194 UN member countries plus the occupied Palestine.
She added, “Principle must be put into practice or else its useless/nothing”.
The Ability Village is a product of the Centre for Community Initiative ( a center for those children who are mentally and physical challenge), which had been establish in 2002 by P Tonsing and his wife Douching in a land donated by the proprietor of Lalpuithluaii Foundation School T Vunglallian at Pearsonmun .
