Manipur Rural Bank branch office re-opened at CCpur

LAMKA, July 17: After a gap of 13 years, the Manipur Rural Bank (MRB) Branch has been re-opened at Churachandpur.

The Churachandpur Branch of MRB which is a joint venture between the Central, State govt and the United Bank of India with 50% , 15% and 35% share respectively was inaugurated at Damkam Bazar, New Lamka, Ccpur today.

Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, DC of CCpur Jacintha Lazarus, asserted that the new bank would prove to be a big boon to help the farmers of the area and cater to the needs of agriculture sector as most of the people in this part are farmers.

She said that from the bank’s administrative side also 'co- operation' will be given so that it will be sustained bank adding that many new public sectior banks have been set up in Ccpur in the last few months which is one positive factor.

Chairman of MRB Monolith Deb said that the newly opened branch is the 20th branch of the Rural bank in the state and is primarily set up to cater to the need of the agriculture sector.

He continued that this bank will be a personalize service bank and would have four staffs for the start under one manager.

The chairman further said that with ten account now in existence, the bank is expecting 20/30 more new accoun to be opened today.

K Muanthang Guite, manager of the bank said that the bank staffs are confident to do well, and at the same time requested the public of the areas to made best use of the service that is on offer saying that it would provide more in future.

It may be mentioned that the MRB was established on May 28, 1981 and was first launched on August 7, 1989 in Ccpur until it stop functioning for what ever reasons in 2001.
