CM inaugurates Thoubal District and Session Court

IMPHAL, July 19: The State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh along with Manipur High Court Chief Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre today inaugurated a District and Session Court in Thoubal district at the court complex, Thoubal district.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, O Ibobi Singh stated that in rendering legal’s procedures and punishment, everyone come under the same category including his own family and acquaintances and urged the law agencies of the State not to waste even one second of time in giving punishment if one is found guilty.
O Ibobi further said that the slogan “Justice delayed is justice denied’’ says all and further expressed concern on the granting of bail in an easy manner to any accused; and added that the government will not interfere in any legal proceedings.
He went on to say that for a democratic country like India, the three pillars i.e the Legislature, Judiciary and Executive need to be maintained in the strongest manner as these three pillars would determine the welfare of a state.
He announced that the state government is trying to provide a District and Session Court in each districts of the state; and added that one such court will be inaugurated in August in Bishnupur district.
Further elaborating on the government’s efforts to strengthen the judicial system of the state, he added that the government is also considering incorporating sub-jails in the hill districts of, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul and Jiribam sub division.
While maintaining that his government would also try to set up a first class Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Kakching for Thoubal district, he further lauded the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court for taking up various legal awareness and other initiatives in the state.
