2-month Football Development Programme concludes

Imphal, July 3: The two monthslong resident football coaching camp under the foreign coach Stephen David Darby from England and Milan Milonavanovic chief coach from Australia concluded today at the conference hall Hostel no. 2 YAS, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
In the closing function of the coaching programme under the aegis of Manipur Development Society (MDS) and All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), the chief coach Milan Milovonovic said Manipur has talented and potential players in the field of Football who are likely to enter international arena in future. “But they need more competition and proper coaching to actualize their potential.
After training for one month under England coach Stephen David Darby, young players of the state showed marked improvement in the field. David expressed the hope that Manipur will produce more talent and potential players in the future. He recommended rigorous coaching for players in the 15-18 age group.
He revealed that in match last Sunday on June 30 between those who were undergoing coaching and the more experienced Manipur players, Theywere nervous, psychologically weak in the first half, possibly because they were playing in front of such a huge crowd for the first time in their careers. But in the 2nd half we became more organized and controlled the field, he added.
He further said that the players need more skill in the future to fight in the international arena.
Manipur have good infrastructure and Administration with artificial play ground. ‘I hope more good player will be shine in the future from Manipur’, said Australian coach, ACT Academy of Sport coach A-license holder Milan Milovanovic.
