State cabinet discussion on Assembly session

IMPHAL, June 6: A state cabinet meeting has today minutely deliberated on the upcoming Assembly session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly Session.
The Assembly session is likely to be held from June 10 to July 1. The lengthy cabinet meeting started from 3 pm and concluded late in the evening has approved to conduct the state Civil Services Examination for the recruitment of 91 posts through the Manipur Public Service Commission.
Briefing the media persons after the conclusion of the cabinet meeting, Minister Moirangthem Okendro, who is also government spokesperson said that the state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh minutely discussed the matter of the Manipur Legislative Assembly which will commences from June 10.
At the outset, today’s cabinet meeting discussed the matter of demands for grants for the current budget, 2013 to be presented during the Assembly Session, he elaborated.
It was followed by a detailed discussion on the report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) as compared to reports submitted in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Further detailing on the proceedings of the cabinet meeting, the government spokesperson said it was also resolved during the meeting to implement, though late, the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission in Manipur which has been implemented in other states including other North Eastern states of India.
The mission at the national level is “National Rural Livelihood Mission” (NRLM), he said and added that when it is implemented in the state, it will be known as MSRLM.
While the discussion on the Assembly session was being held, it was resolve to table the Manipur Co-operative Society (5th Amendment Bill), 2013, he continued.
A resolution was also adopted to recruit 22 posts of Manipur Civil Service (MCS), 25 posts of Manipur Police Service (MPS), 28 posts of Manipur Finance Service (MFS), and 15 posts of Sub-deputy Collector (SDC) and 1 post of Election Officer through the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC).
However, when asked whether today’s meeting discussed the matter of implementation of Inner-Line Permit in Manipur or not, M Okendro said that the stand of the Manipur government on Inner Line Permit System remains unchanged and today’s cabinet meeting did not raise and discuss it.
