Sericulture Inspectors and Farm Overseers candidates appeals for DPC result

Chandel, June, 9:While airing their frustrations over the long pending result of the DPC conducted by the Directorate of Sericulture, Government of Manipur for selection and appointment of Inspector (Seri) and Farm Overseer (FO) on contractual basis in the Sericulture department, Manipur, DPC faced candidates of the same has come out with fervent appeal to the State government for declaring the said result as soon as possible.
Decisions for making the appeal to press the government for early announcement of DPC result arrived at an informal meeting of the candidates at the Complex of Manipur Sericulture Project, Sangaipat, Imphal on June 7 last.
One of the candidates while briefing the media stated that the State Govt. has no doubt taken a bold step for recruitment of manpower at the right time when the sericulture department of Manipur has been facing problems in implementation of the project due to lack and shortage of manpower in the department. In order to cater to the needs of the shortage of manpower that has crippled particularly, the sericulture department for making a progress of the project, the said department has already completed the process of recruitment from its side and is awaiting the honorable decision from the state government, he stated.
Joining to give statements in this regard, one of the DPC appeared candidates said, “Even if financial constraints of the state Government should be the reason in delaying the announcement of result, the Government must do to declare it as it had already initiated and almost complete the entire process of selection. It must be realized that thousands of life and careers are on the verse of wreck. Many more are on the verse of crossing their upper age limits”. He added.
One of the DPC appeared candidates while informing the decision of the meeting to the media , narrated the whole story of the recruitment process that has led to nothing other than frustration over the crossing of the age limit by saying that the Government of Manipur through its Advertisement No. Seri-III-Est-4/09, dated Sangaipat, the 2nd July, 2010, invited application in prescribed form obtainable from the Directorate Office for appointment of 81 posts in total including that of 1 post of System Engineer , 2 post os Computer Encoder, 2 post of Store Keeper, 2 post of Electricians, 20 post of Inspector (Sericulture), 23 post of Farm Overseer, 1 post of mechanic, 1 post of Boiler Foreman, 4 post of LDC/Cashier, 10 post of Driver and 21 post of Peon for contractual basis in the Department of Sericulture, Manipur. The written examination of the Inspector (Sericulture) and Farm Overseer was held the same year on October 17.
He went on to say that for reasons unknown to him the Government passed an order leading to the cancellation of the Written Examination. A fresh advertisement was notified in the following year and the written exam for the same was conducted again on May 15, 2011. Similarly the state Govt again suppressed the advertisement and the written exam while issuing fresh order inviting application for DPC for appointment of Inspector (Seri) and Farm overseer that was subsequently held from July 28- 31, 2012. In this regard, he appeals to the State Govt. of Manipur especially the Honorable Chief Minister of Manipur, Okram Ibobi Singh and the Concerned Honourable Minister of Sericulture, Govindas Konthoujam for taking the matter seriously and do the needful during the ongoing Manipur Assembly sessions.
