Life imprisonment for AR personnel convicted in wife killing case

IMPHAL, June 24: The District and Session Court Manipur West today convicted a Rifleman of 2nd Assam Rifle, Churchandpur post for strangling his wife to death in February 2010 and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The convicted personnel identified as Rameshor Baburao, son of Patil Baburao of Undangaon village Aurangabad Maharashtra was posted at Aina Molhoiching Churachandpur district when he had killed his newly wed wife.
He was convicted and sentenced by the court under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
He killed his newly wedded wife of 2 month Sarla Patel (19) by strangling her with a rope during the intervening night of February 17 and 18, 2010 in a quarter allotted to the Assam Rifle personal inside the Assam Rifle camp.
