Dhoni makes it to Forbes’ list of highest-paid athletes

New Delhi, June 8: M.S. Dhoni’s earnings of USD 31.5 million, has earned him the 16th rank on Forbes’ list, with golfer Tiger Woods claiming the top-most position.

Forbes claims that Indian cricket captain, M.S Dhoni has moved up 15 positions in this year’s list. In 2012, he was placed at number 31.

The globally famous and much sought after magazine, estimates that Dhoni has made USD 31.5 million, from prize money and endorsements.

Tiger Woods, on the other hand, made a whooping USD 78.1 million, followed by tennis star, Roger Federer at USD 71.5 million.

On number three is America’s Kobe Byrant, a basketball player with USD 61.9 million. Federer, had apparently topped the list in 2012.

However, the magazine’s 2013 list features only three women, led by Tennis player Maria Sharapova, who ranks 22 with earnings worth USD 29 million.

She is joined by Serena Williams at number 68, who surprisingly ranked in USD 20.5 million, including USD 8.5 million in prize money.

At number 85, is China’s Li Na, with overall earnings of USD 18.2 million.
