Anganwadi workers and ASHAs to have One day discussion prog

IMPHAL, June 4: A one day discussion programme for Anganwadi workers and Accredited social health activists (Asha) was organised by N Boby, Pradhan of Leirenkabi Kadangbam Gram Panchayat at the public health sub-centre (PHSC) located at Kadangbam Part –II today.
The function was attended by Asem Angou as the chief guest and Thokchom Dhaka Singh as the president.
Altogether, 45 women including Anganwadi workers, helpers and Asha from various places under the Gram Panchayat participated in the programme.
Speaking at the function, N Boby said that Anganwadi workers and helpers who take the responsibility for providing pre-school education to children should properly feed the nutritional items allotted by the Social Welfare Department to the children in time.
He continued that efforts should be made to get the items by reporting to the concerned officials of the department if there are any needs.
He further appealed to the ASHAs to discharge their duties properly.
Records of how many male and female infants were born in a year at the areas under the gram panchayat should be maintained, he added.
On the other hand there have been no doctors and nurses at PHSC of the government at Kadangbam Part II for a long time, he complained.
The doctor who was at the PHSC did not turn up from May till now, he continued and called on the attention of the concerned department of the government to send a regular doctor and a regular nurse at the PHSC.
