North Korean Table Tennis coach to train NE players

Imphal, May 29: With an aim to boost the talents of young table tennis players of the state and groom them for international standard, a 'Residential Table Tennis Coaching Camp-2013' with internationally acclaimed North Korean coach Song Han Kim has begun from today at the Indoor Hall of National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak here.
Speaking at the inauguration function of the 19-day-long residential coaching camp (29th May to 16th June), Song Han Kim praised TT players of the state and said that they are very talented.
He also expressed hope that if proper training and guidance is provided, players of the state would do extremely well.
It is the second time in the state after 2006 in which two coaches from abroad have been engaged to train TT players of the state. This time officials of Manipur Table Tennis Association (MTTA) are optimistic that the coaching camp would benefit the players of the state especially the young ones.
The inaugural function was graced by Francis Ngajokpa, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Economics & Statistics, Tongbram Mangibabu Singh, MLA of Thanga A/C and Dr L Loken Singh, President of MTTA as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
